Since we don't get the Fisherman's Heaven TV show down here in Oregon, I asked the producers/hosts Kevin Erickson and Mike Wasch for a couple shows to review for our Oregon website. We may get the show in our area in the futrue. Kevin sent me "Spring Kings of the Icicle" (fishing the Icicle R. for Springers near Leavenworth, WA) and "Born to be Wild" (fishing the Skykomish R. for large native Steelhead). This show airs on the Outdoor Channel for those that have it. For those that don't, I'd like to share my thoughts. These fishing shows are made with excellant production tech, great scenic photography, local expert guides, and a couple of fishing crazy light hearted guys in Mike and Kevin. If any of you have ever watched "Fishing The West" with Larry Schoneborn, the F.H. shows are similar only in that you get to see fishing action on great rivers in superb scenery. The difference is F.H. has personality. Two of them actually. This is more like going out on a fun fishing trip with no cameras present (well almost). If you haven't seen them I highly recommend their videos.- Steve Hanson - P.S.- I have driven with my family around the N. Cascades loop a few years back. Loved the georgeous scenery! While my wife and daughter shoped in Leavenworth, my son and I drove around the area looking at a few streams. I knew I was looking at good Steelhead and trout water but I wasn't aware that we were near Spring King runs over there. Cool!
